My father took my seven-year-old brother by the hand and walked on the edge of the crowd, the rioting crowd. And that saved their lives.

If my brother had been at home, they might have been so angry at not getting my father that they would have beaten him up and maybe even killed him. So I'm sure my dad saved both their lives by what he did.
